Police said that the man - whose name has not been released pending notification of his family - was found in a basement apartment in Mount Vernon on South Sixth Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13. According to a News12 report, the body was found by his girlfriend.
The cause of the death is currently under investigation, and there was a heavy police presence on Sixth Avenue for several hours on Wednesday night. Initial reports said that the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
